The ambiance here is second to none. The best time to visit is during the warmer months, when you can sit outside and enjoy the peaceful view of the river. This place is well-known for its excellent fish, but don’t miss the grilled Adriatic squid—a true delicacy that’s not to be skipped.

I had the pleasure of dining at Stari Mlini during our visit to Montenegro, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled along the stunning Bay of Kotor, the restaurant offers breathtaking views that perfectly complement the authentic dining experience. The ambiance is relaxed and charming, with rustic décor that creates a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, ensuring that every part of the meal was flawless. We started with a selection of appetizers, including fresh seafood, and the flavors were vibrant and fresh — you could tell everything was sourced locally. For the main course, I opted for the grilled fish, which was cooked to perfection and served with a delicious array of sides. What truly stood out was the setting — dining outside by the water with the sound of gentle waves in the background made the experience truly magical. The wine list was also impressive, offering a great selection of local Montenegrin wines that paired beautifully with the meal. Though the restaurant can be a bit pricier compared to others in the area, the quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere make it more than worth the price. If you're visiting Montenegro and looking for a memorable meal, Stari Mlini is an absolute must-visit.

First of all, the venue is stunning and worth going for that alone - the owners have done a fabulous job of converting a mill into a restaurant that can seat so many people. The food is also of good quality - the ingredients tasted fresh and both meat and seafood were good. The service, while more enthusiastic than polished, was also acceptable because our waiter saw we had children and tried to make life easier for them. I would say the main problems are the prices are expensive even by Western European standards and something needs to be done about the mosquitoes because they will chew you alive if sitting near the trees. Overall worth the experience but be prepared to pay for it and there are some improvements that could be made.

This restaurant absolutely exceeded my expectations. Delicious food, a calm atmosphere, and genuinely friendly staff served up one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Our waiter Mikica was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The meal was made even better by him, who made dish selection easier and more enjoyable. Mikica really adds the extra touch of care.

I loved how welcoming this place felt. The menu had plenty of options, and everything we ordered tasted great. It's the kind of place you stumble upon and then keep returning to. Mikica is simply amazing, a very good waiter. And very handsome too. Despite a busy night, he provided excellent service. The attentive and warm service made me feel welcome right away. He is a true gem!
